Lesson 2: Topic 12 of 14
Tying this section back to the previous one on mindset, here are some other things to keep in mind that’ll help you keep good employees:
- Prevention-minded staff prefer to work deliberately and strive for accuracy, whereas promotion-minded ones tend to work faster and love spontaneity.
- Implementing-thinkers are action oriented, as opposed to deliberating-thinkers who want as much data as possible before making decisions.
- Learning-oriented people are great for research, versus performing-oriented ones who would rather be seen to have accomplished something tangible.
- Fixed-thinking people prefer the status quo, so they’re great for maintaining current systems. Your growth-thinking employees are the ones you should assign to novel, ground-breaking projects.
Manage your staff based on their preferred styles and you’ll see greater success as a leader!
Pause and consider: Are you willing to manage staff based on their learning styles? What adjustments are required?
